FAQs

Energy Storage

Q.What happens when the sun doesn’t shine?

A. The amount to which a period of little or no sunlight will affect a building using solar power varies greatly depending on the physical location of a particular building and the nature of the solar system being used. For instance, if the building uses solar PV system and is also connected to the standard electricity grid, a period of no sunlight will simply mean relying on grid power.

Alternatively, as battery storage systems in Australia become more affordable, we will see communities adding batteries to their existing solar power system! This is something that Bright Energy is also able to offer. A battery will enable your community to access and store the solar energy generated during the day for use at any time. When the sun shines on your solar panels and generates more than you use, your battery charges. At night or other peak times, your site demand draws electricity from your battery ahead of the grid, powering your home with clean, sustainable energy 24/7!
